Fond is a shared voice-journaling app built and provided by Ebubekir DEMİRAY. This Privacy Policy explains, in plain language, what information Fond handles, how it is used, and the choices you have. Fond is offered as a free app, with an optional paid subscription, and is provided on an 'AS IS' basis.

Your privacy is central to how Fond is designed. By using the app, you agree to the handling of information described in this policy.

The most important thing to know is that the audio of your voice notes never leaves your device. Fond uses your microphone only to capture each note, and the recording is stored locally on your phone — it is not uploaded to our servers.

When you record a note, it is turned into text on your device. Only that text is synced, so that the other members of your shared jar can read it and so that weekly and monthly summaries can be created. We never have access to your original audio.

To run a shared jar and provide summaries, Fond handles the transcribed text of your notes and basic information about your jars and the members in them. To keep the app working well, we also process limited technical information such as your device type, operating system version, app version, and anonymous usage and diagnostic data.

Fond does not collect your precise location, and we do not use your content to build advertising profiles. From time to time we may use your contact details, if you have provided them, to send you important information about the app, updates, or occasional service messages.

We use a small number of trusted third-party services to help Fond run — for example, analytics and diagnostics providers that help us understand how the app is used and fix problems, and Apple's App Store for distribution and subscription billing. Where we share information with these providers, we limit it to what is needed and prefer anonymized or aggregated data.

To create your weekly and monthly summaries, we send the transcribed text of your notes to OpenAI, our AI service provider. This covers text only — your original audio is never shared — and OpenAI processes this text solely to generate summaries on our behalf. How OpenAI handles information is governed by its own privacy policy.

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy that governs how it handles data. In addition, we may disclose information if we are legally required to do so, or where we believe in good faith that it is necessary to comply with the law, protect our rights, or protect the safety of people.

You can stop all collection of information by Fond by uninstalling the app, using the standard process for your device. You can also remove individual notes and entire jars from inside the app at any time.

We keep the synced text of your notes and your jar information for as long as you use Fond, so that your shared memories remain available to your jar. Deleting a note removes its synced text from the shared jar; deleting a jar removes its contents.

Fond is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe that a child has provided us with their information, please contact us at ebdemsoft@gmail.com so that we can remove it.

We take reasonable measures to protect the information handled by Fond, including keeping your audio on your own device and limiting what is synced. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and update the 'last updated' date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically for any changes.
